Inaugurated in 1873, the first railway line crosses the territory of the commune of Latresne linking Bordeaux to La Sauve
Another line passed through the station: the Bordeaux-Cadillac "tramway", put into service in 1897
Faced with growing competition from road transport, the railway lines closed one by one. The Bordeaux-Cadillac tramway ceased its activity in 1935. The Bordeaux-La Sauve line is closed in 1951. Only the section up to Espiet continues to operate for the cement factory until 1979.
The former station of Latresne-Castera now houses an antique shop where you can also eat with quality products. It has kept its original shape with the passenger hall, the stationmaster's residence and the luggage hall.
