The space between the rampart and the amphitheatre was occupied in Antiquity by a vast public building which could be a thermal complex if we consider the remains discovered in the 19th century under the neighbouring orchards. Excavations carried out between 2010 and 2016 have uncovered a gallery giving access to these buildings. This gallery, 6 m wide and more than 40 m long, was distinguished by the richness of its decoration with regard to the large number of marble fragments and painted plaster found. The square preceding this portico was crossed by an underground conduit that probably connected the spring under the church and the baths that it fed. A selection of the objects unearthed during these excavations is presented in the Mosaic Museum.
