Nice little tourist site 6 kms from St-Dié, at the foot of the Massif de l'Ormont (northeast of St-Dié) that we reach by passing through the hamlet of Robache. The latter owes its name to the brook that crosses it (Roth=red and Bach=stream) whose waters become red by the sandstone sand that they carry after a heavy rain. At Les Molières, near an old forest house, a path leads, in a few minutes, to a small lake fed by the water that comes down from the mountain through a wild and narrow gorge. Big rocks in which several archaeologists see Druidic or Gallo-Roman remains. Pretty waterfall and loggia nearby. On this route, while continuing to mark out, you will have the surprise to find some sandstone rocks. A map of the hiking trails on the four massifs around St-Dié-des-Vosges is available at the Tourist Office.
