Einville is located in the Sânon salt basin, next to the Seille and Meurthe rivers. The industrial exploitation of salt began in Einville in the middle of the 19th century and two salt works were established there. For more than a century, the life of Einville was intertwined with the technical and social evolution of these two companies. Today, a company still produces salt in the old-fashioned way, by treating it in evaporators, and markets fine salt.
