General Humbert?s birthplace: La Couare farm, where Jean-Joseph-Amable Humbert was born on August 22, 1767, hero of Ireland?s fight for freedom during the 2nd Irish Expedition in 1798. Little known in France, he remains a legend in the heart of Ireland.

From the RN 57, take the Saint-Nabord Fallières exit. Follow signs for Saint-Nabord Fallières.
Turn right onto the road to Sainte Anne.
Take the next right towards Le Val Courroye- Déchetterie.
Drive around the sand pit. At the crossroads, turn left over the small bridge.
Leave the Chemin de La Prairie on your left.
Continue straight ahead, skirting the waste disposal center.
Immediately after the waste disposal center, the farm on your left is Ferme de la Couare (there's a sign for it by the roadside).
It's about 500m from the small bridge to La Couare farm.
As the farm is inhabited (private house), please leave your cars at the top of the road and do not take the farm path.
