Cycling in pioneer times
Come and admire or find exceptional pieces, such as one of the four known examples of the Fisher, "the oldest bicycle in the world" (circa 1855) that accompanied the Michaux (1861-1865) and the famous Grands-bi from the museum's collection.
Where these early bikes allow us to explore their technical principles... while having fun! From a crankset, to illustrate the forces and the lever arm, to the derailleur to experiment the world of gears, test here the life-size gyroscopic effect!
Manipulations: "Aerodynamics: the art of good positioning", "Lever arm and crankset", "The energy bike", "It goes straight with the gyroscopic effect!"...
