The refuge of the Enchanteur Maugis Situated on the left bank of the Meuse, facing the rocks of the four Aymon sons, it is made up of a rocky, steep and very indented massif. It overlooks the Meuse and one can discover a very beautiful view of the valley, both downstream, towards Laval-Dieu and the mouth of the Semoy, and opposite, on the massif of the four Aymon sons. This site is the bearer of a legend: Maugis, cousin of the four Aymon brothers and enchanter of his state, came here to do penance. He lived a few years on this rock, surely contemplating the remains of the famous Montessor (a castle that belonged to the four brothers and which had been taken by Charlemagne following a betrayal of Ganelon), then he died, leaving the rock with the name of the Hermitage.
