The parish of Tenteling consisted of the village of Tenteling and its annexes Diebling and Ebring. It is an old parish mentioned, as early as 1360, on the lists of the Pouillé de Metz as the parish of the Archpriest of Sankt Arnual. The first assessment of the importance of the parish was made by Abbot Philippe Eberhardt, parish priest of Tenteling, from 1676 to 1721.
