The house between the courtyard and garden was built in 1537 by Saladin d'Anglure, Baron de Bourlémont; restored, it retains its beams and cheminées, and serves as a showcase for an important collection of sculptures, from the 12th to the 18th century.
After the ravages of the Thirty Years' War, the mansion on the street was rebuilt and decorated in the 18th century by members of the Collenel family, ennobled in 1702. The monumental door, dated 1758, retains its animal decor, and the dining room features a fine demonstration buffet cupboard.
Sold as a Bien National in 1795, the Hôtel Collenel has since undergone only minor improvements. This private residence, the jewel in the crown of Place Jeanne d'Arc, is graciously open to guided tours in season.
