For 150 years, from 1850, Villenauxe-la-Grande lived to the rhythm of clay miners - gray faces - and ceramists - white asses. Perpetuating exceptional know-how, generations of workers will carry the city's reputation far. To publicize the history of mining and manufacturing, a “Heritage Area” is open in Villenauxe: photos, film, tools, molds and ceramics bear witness to this. And, on occasion, former mine and factory workers redo the actions: “line” a block of clay, mount a porcelain biscuit… Open on request from the tourist office. Guided tours by reservation.
