All the 61 soldiers (including 3 unknown) resting in the Joncourt British cemetery died during the fighting that led to the liberation of the commune from 30 September to 4 October 1918.
55 of these soldiers belonged to the 10th Battalion of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders Regiment. These battalions were part of the Scottish division of the British army.
