The Bar-sur-Aube municipal library was founded in 1884 on the premises of the town hall.
In 1989, it moved to a 16th- and 18th-century mansion at 13 rue Saint Pierre, in the historic heart of the town.
After expansion work, the Médiathèque, initially with a surface area of 550 m², now welcomes its readers in a 1400 m² space.
30,000 volumes are available for loan, and 11,000 volumes can be consulted on request in the older collection.
