This church was dedicated to Saint Vaast and this choice was not without reason. Indeed, first, Saint Vaast is known to be one of the great evangelizers of Flanders; secondly, the building was founded as a possession of the Saint-Vaast Abbey of Arras. Used as a hay barn since the Revolution, it was returned to worship in 1825. Built in the 9th century, it was destroyed several times and even leveled during one of the bombings of World War I in 1917.
