Spring and waterfall near Via Francigena for cyclists.
Did you know ?
Located between the village of Malbuisson and Montperreux, this spring has a hue of pure transparent blue.
Shortly after their marriage, nobleman Amauri de Joux had to leave his wife Berthe to go on a crusade.
A few years later, a wounded knight reported to the Château de Joux: he was Berthe's childhood friend, who had returned from the Crusade to announce the death of Amauri.
He became Berthe's lover.
One fine day, the supposedly dead Amauri returned and surprised the two lovers. Drunk with anger, he hanged the lover and had Berthe locked up in a small dungeon in the castle.
A few times a day Berthe was allowed outside so that she could see the remains of her lover through the window.
Berthe cried so much that the blue of her eyes colored the water of the well.
