A nice way to see the city from the other side is with an authentic flat-bottomed boat. During a cruise with a flat-bottomed boat you will be pushed through the Petite Venice district over the Lauch. During the trip you will have to bend deep several times as the bridges of Colmar are generally not very high. The view to the rear of the beautiful half-timbered Colmar cottage is stunning. It is possible on some days to take an evening boat trip while the Lauch is beautifully lit. The tour starts at the foot of the Saint-Pierre bridge and takes you to the covered market halls where the boat returns. In the summer months, the bridges and waterfronts that run on, over and along the Lauch are richly decorated with flowers, which makes the boat trip extra special.
