Brasserie des tanneurs - Colmar

Rue de Tanneurs, also known as Le quartier des Tanneurs or Colmar's tanner district, used to be one of the poorest areas of the city. The neighborhood can be found between the Koifhus and the Little Venice district. The most beautiful street in this district is the Rue de Tanneurs. In this street you will find the beautifully restored half-timbered houses where the tanners of the city used to live. The top floor of these houses used to be completely opened up so that the hides could dry well here. The Le quartier des Tanneurs is nowadays one of the nicest districts of Colmar. On the square where the Swendi fountain can also be found, many cozy terraces can be found in the summer months. The canals in the district are beautifully lit in many colors in the evenings.
