The Weiss, formerly called Abelsbach, is a French river in the Haut-Rhin department, in the historic Alsace region, in the Grand Est region and a tributary on the left bank of the Fecht, thus a subriver of the Rhine via the Ill.
The river is 24 kilometers long1 and flows through the valley of the Kaysersberg in the Haut-Rhin department. The source is near the Col du Linge and the Col du Wettstein, at an altitude of 845 meters3. Called the Basses Huttes upstream, this stream really takes on the Weiss name when the Black and White Meerbeek streams converge, and flows into the Fecht at an elevation of about 195 metres, between Sigolsheim and Colmar-Houssen airport.
