The church was built in 1870 from French stone and is a smaller replica of a French cathedral.
Why this imposing building in this small forest village on the border? This church, like Pussemange station, was part of Leopold II's policy . He wanted the French who entered Belgian territory to have a somewhat exuberant image of our country from the moment they entered. The municipality of Vresse was aware of the symbolic value and had the church restored a few years ago.
The church has three naves and two towers . The former church was once an annex of the parish of Neufmanil, deanery of Mézières, diocese of Reims.
