This church was built in 1593 and was surrounded by a cemetery, the surrounding wall of which still stands today.
The nave of St. Ursmer's Church dates from the early 16th century, the chapels on either side of the choir from the end of the 16th century and the choir and sacristy from the 17th century. St. Ursmer's Church is topped by a wooden bell tower. The base is made of limestone and the masonry is made of brick. It consists of one nave without side aisles. The nave has a flat ribbed vault. The square chapels on either side of the choir have a brick vault with stone ribs, as does the choir, which is illuminated by three ogee windows.
Saint Ursmer or Ursmar or Ursmarus in Dutch, born around 644 in Floyon near Avesnes-sur-Helpe, died on April 18, 713 in Lobbes in Belgium, was a monk, evangelist of Flanders and Hainaut, and bishop-abbot of the abbey from Lobbes.
