The “Cadole” or “Loge” is a dry stone hut. About 200 years ago it was used as a shelter by wine growers . It protected them from the heat in summer and from bad weather in general.
The construction technique is simple; flat stones are stacked on top of each other in the shape of a crown. They meet at the top of the roof, leaving a hole for smoke extraction . The low door always faces east, away from the prevailing wind.
