This 5,500 m2 green space, also known as the "Jardin de la Porte de Paris" , was created in 1848 and renovated in 1991.
"Porte de Paris" is the second name of the former Porte du Beffroi, which closed off the western end of the street of the same name , now rue du Colonel Driant. It offers incomparable moments of relaxation in the shade of the foliage on the edge of the Bouchon de Champagne.
At the northwest corner of the Jardin du Beffroi, L'Harmonie is a white marble work by the sculptor Louis Convers. It depicts a woman with one foot dangling, her head resting on her left hand and her right arm on an armrest. It originally stood in the Jardin du Rocher . It was then moved to the courtyard of the prefecture and then to the rue de la Cité in front of the former Bibliothèque Municipale. Finally, in 1967, it found its final home in the Chevreuse garden, which became the Jardin du Beffroi in 1988.
In the park there is a bust of Comte Adolphe de Launay (1854-1927), by Auguste Suchetet (1854-1932), a sculptor from the Aube, in 1930. Comte de Launay was a member of parliament, a member of the General Council of the Aube, an agronomist and a champion of agriculture in the Aube.
