In Charroux, in the south of the Vienne, pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela can stop at the Halte Jacquaire, a 15th century medieval half-timbered building, upon presentation of the credential.
A place of pilgrimage, founded under Charlemagne, the powerful medieval abbey of Charroux, dedicated to the Holy Savior, possessed a number of outstanding relics... The remains of the building can be visited during opening hours.
Today, the village of Charroux is labeled "Small city of character".
Open from April 5 to October 28.
