The Porte de la Mer (Sea Gate) is a remaining gateway to the fortified city wall. Its façade features a coat of arms carved in stone during the Hundred Years' War: 2 bold roosters and a raised paw supporting a knight's helmet. The gate has been enlarged over the years to accommodate modern transportation needs, allowing the passage of small carts, large horse-drawn carriages and then cars.
