The vineyard of Guebwiller is undoubtedly one of the most striking in Alsace. It is situated on the vertiginous hillsides to the north of the town, with slopes at 50° and an altitude ranging from 250 to 390 metres. It benefits from a triple exposure to the sun: south-west, south, south-east. Guebwiller is the only commune in Alsace to have 4 Grands Crus classés on its territory (Spiegel, Kessler, Kitterlé and Saering). Its vineyard is also impressive because of its 50 kilometres of stone walls (2.5 times the volume of stone needed to build Strasbourg Cathedral), the maintenance of which requires the work of four specialised masons throughout the year!
Guided tours every Wednesday morning at 10am in July and August and all year round (except during the grape harvest period) by reservation for groups
The Guebwiller vineyard can also be discovered on a free walk or thanks to audio guides available for hire at the Guebwiller Tourist Office.
