Eglise Saint Pierre

The Saint-Pierre church was built in the rue des Ardilliers in the 17th century. Initially a chapel reserved for the Jesuit College, this building became a parish church in 1773 under the name of Saint-Père; it replaced the former Nervers place of worship of the same name, installed in Place Guy Coquille and collapsed in 1771. It then became, under a more modern name, the church of Saint-Pierre. In 1944, the blast of bombs caused a lot of damage to the monument: detachment and fall of pieces of plaster, cracks, blowing of the stained glass windows; part of the roof was torn off and exposed the paintings to a prolonged erosion. The church was restored in the second half of the 20th century
