As a passionate basket maker, I make traditional woven items mainly in natural wicker, i.e. willow, but I also sometimes use hazelnut or wild clematis.
My baskets are the containers that our ancestors used before the arrival of plastic: for harvesting fruit from the orchard or vineyard, vegetables from the garden or harvesting mushrooms; for taking a picnic or holding bottles, protecting canisters, holding bread, pancakes, or drying aromatic plants? I like to work on the multiple forms that were found in the past, so I feel in resonance with our near past too quickly forgotten.
