Located in the heart of the Parc Naturel Régional Périgord-Limousin, Grand Puyconnieux, the highest point of the Monts de Châlus (alt. 498 m), offers a wide, far-reaching panorama towards the Haute-Vienne, Charente and Dordogne regions. Part of a chain of puys running north-west/south-east from Cussac to Dournazac, the site consists of an open, grassy summit and wooded slopes (chestnut coppice, conifers and shrub-covered plots). The puy is the source of numerous springs, and its crest marks the watershed between the Tardoire, Dronne and Bandiat watersheds. An orientation table will help you get your bearings. Enjoy an exceptional view of the Château de Montbrun, one of the finest castles on the Richard the Lionheart route. Hiking trails and Nordic walking paths nearby.
