In Sauvelade, a stopover on the Pilgrim's Way to Santiago de Compostela between Arthez-de-Béarn and Navarrenx, Aurélie and Gilles' house has been restored in a spirit of environmental conservation, one of the family's core values: rainwater harvesting to water the garden or give the animals something to drink, use of environmentally-friendly materials....
Open to tourists and pilgrims looking for quality accommodation before setting off again. The latter have a courtyard with a terrace and access to a jacuzzi.
The table d'hôtes is prepared by Gilles, the chef, who uses his large vegetable garden and orchard as well as local produce in a short circuit spirit, and also offers picnic baskets.
For holidaymakers, Sauvelade is a traditional Béarn village whose church is remarkable for its unusual cupola.
