Prix lès Mézières is a village of 1369 inhabitants called the Pirisiens, located 5km from Charleville-Mézières and is part of the Communauté d'Agglomération Coeur d'Ardenne. The Marbay river runs through the village. The church of Prix-lès-Mézières was built during the First Empire. In the past, the chapel of the priory welcomed the parishioners for the services. It was located to the north of the present church, which only dates from 1806. The owner of the Benedictine chapel, named Berthe, had it demolished in 1805 to build, at his own expense, the new parish church. Berthe also owns the mills. On 30 July 1917, the Germans took away the twin bells, dating from 1402. They had been melted down for the priory of Prix. On the church square, a votive niche decorates the façade dated "1811". The statue of St. Sulpice, the patron saint of the parish, was housed there. You will also discover the wash-house, the mill or the old railway station...Charleville / Sedan en Ardenne Tourist Office24 place Ducale08000 CHARLEVILLE-MEZIERESTél: 03 24 55 69 90_COPY3@charleville-sedan-tourisme.fr
