Stepping proudly to the front of the stage, top hat and impeccable suit, here's a magician in the purest music-hall tradition who's got style. His assistant Goupil, a taxidermized ex-fox and former extra-soft scarf, rebels. Tricks go awry, the magician loses his touch and the atmosphere turns cartoonish.
