In his workshop-boutique in the Montbrun district, passionate craftsman Eric Burel-Etchegoin creates and displays his many creations.
He crafts elegant handmade knives with wooden or manech horn (a local breed of sheep) handles, inspired by the expertise of Japanese and Basque master cutlers: folding knives, kitchen knives and table knives.
Eric is passionate about making walking sticks, traditional makilas and shepherd's umbrellas in collaboration with the Pau-based artisan company Les Parapluies des Pyrénées. All are crafted in the artisan's characteristic style: sticks made from burnt local ash wood, handles made from manech horn, brass rings and marked with the imprint of the seven Basque provinces.
Faithful companions that will accompany you throughout your life on your future hikes.
