The church is curiously isolated from the village, and close to the town of Saint-Pierre-Bois. In the right corner, on the east side, a stone of the chain carries the date of 1719. That year, the old chapel was enlarged. In 1784, on the same site, the present church was built. The inside of the sanctuary reminds us that it was placed under the protection of Saint James the Great beheaded in the year 44 by Herod Agrippa.
