Ricochets, oeuvres artistiques

In order to allow walkers to see the Thouet in a different way, the Syndicat Mixte de la Vallée du Thoeut wished to enhance the banks of the river through the installation of permanent works of art. Within the framework of a public order from the Ministry of Culture and with the support of the art center la Chapelle Jeanne d'Arc de Thouars, three works were created in 2019. A second tranche comprising three sites in the communes of Saint-Généroux, Airvault and Saint-Loup-Lamairé, was delivered in September 2022 with the project "Ricochets" by Hugues REIP. For these last three works, it is the first gesture that is materialized by the bronze casting of the pebble generating the first ricochet. The splash of water resulting from the impact is also made of bronze with a patina, waxed, simulating a liquid metal.
