On your tour of Alsace Verte, make a detour to the village of Rittershoffen to visit the door of the Eglise Saint-Gall, home to a magnificent stained glass window, a masterpiece by Alsatian stained glass master Tristan Ruhlmann. This is the largest stained glass window of any church rebuilt in Alsace after the Second World War. The best time of day to admire it is in the evening, when the church is illuminated, its uniquely colored surface gleaming like precious stones.
