Built between 1868 and 1870 at the instigation of Curé Adam, who was both architect and builder, the Lauw church is an emblematic landmark in the village. Its Franc-Comtois-style roof, with its geometric patterns and bright colors, is a strong element of local identity, recognizable throughout the valley.
Transferred to the Commune in 1987 by the Conseil de Fabrique, the church and all its parish assets became part of the local heritage.
Over time, the building suffered damage during the two world wars. Carefully restored to its former splendor, the church was brought back to life through the work of painters Greth and Talenti, who restored its spiritual character.
In 2002, a landmark event further strengthened the bond between the parish and the commune: two new bells were acquired jointly. A first, since until then, the bells had come from another parish, recovered after the initial construction of the building.
