Le Parc naturel regional des Ballons des Vosges

The Ballons des Vosges Regional Natural Park, whose headquarters are in Munster (68), spreads across four counties (Haut-Rhin, Haut Saône, Territoire-de-Belfort, and Vosge), three regions (Alsace, Franche-Comté, and Lorraine), and a mountainous massif: highly diverse environments dominated by the rounded peaks of the “ballons”. The highest point is the Grand Ballon at 1424m. To the south, in the Haut-Saône, lies the Plateau des Mille Etangs, a particularly remote terrain composed of lakes, heath, and forest, as well as the wooded massif dotted with thatched cottages of the Ballon de Servance (1216m). In the Visitor Centre in Munster, you can learn about the main regions and people who live in the area, and find information on the leisure activities provided or promoted by the Regional Park (free entry).
