Culminating at 1013 m altitude, on a granite massif covered with sandstone and erratic boulders, this rocky peak dominates the area and offers a beautiful view of the Rupt valley
Geological interest
The Haut du Roc rests on a granite base crowned by an immense plateau of Vosges sandstone, which has been shaken and cracked. This sandstone plateau is strewn with a large number of erratic blocks transported by ancient glaciers. Such phenomena are quite frequent in the mountains, witnesses of the glaciation
The Haut-du-Roc, the highest point where Vosges sandstone is found, is also a natural site classified by the Lorraine Regional Department of the Environment.
