ÉGLISE SAINT FLORENTIN

The church of Saint-Florentin de Bonnet, located in the heart of the village, is a gothic style building dating from the 13th century. Its bell tower and the two bays on either side of the nave were added in the 14th century. The roofs of the transept were raised, making it a fortified church.
Inside, the walls are decorated with paintings dating from the 14th to the 20th century, 19 of which represent the life of the church's patron saint, Saint Florentin. The tomb of the latter is also present in the building and is dated from the 16th century. The church of Saint Florentin was classified as a Historic Monument in 1909.
Important restoration works have been carried out during the last decades in order to safeguard the church and to give it back all its prestige. The latest work, from 2018 to 2020, was aimed at restoring and enhancing the interiors and was awarded the special jury prize at the Rubans du Patrimoine 2021.
