Les Glacières

Discover the ice houses! La Grande glacière du château de Chantilly Listed as a historic monument since 1988, it is located on the edge of the forest, opposite the entrance to the château, on the carrefour des Lions. It measures 9.25 m in diameter and 11 m in depth, with a capacity of 600 tons of ice. It was one of the four ice houses at Château de Chantilly! You can visit it on a guided tour according to the calendar. La moyenne glacière and la petite glacière: These are still located in the château grounds, but are not open to the public.

The fourth icehouse is located in Vineuil Saint Firmin and is open during the European Heritage Days.
