As erosion shapes the world, I like to take the time to bring my sculptures to life. I'm particularly fond of form, and work very much by instinct: seeking unity and harmony between curves, volumes, voids, shadows, rhythms and tensions, until I find emotion.
It's by exploring that I find what I'm looking for? The body and nature are my main sources of inspiration.
After several years of artistic practice, I discovered wood sculpture in 2005.
For 4 years, I took part in woodcarving classes with k. Sansom. I quickly realized that this is where I feel I can exist, in the presence, roughness and challenge of direct carving.
I was fascinated by sculptors such as Henry Moore, Wang Keping, Barbara Hepworth, Parvine Curie, Aristide Maillol, Georg Baselitz...
