The museum beneath the house plunges you into the history of the family: over a century-old skidding bars marked with the initials of the Martin-Robert families, wicker baskets, weighing scales, bottle straws for transport, barrels, tasting pipettes, disgorging hut, doreuse, corker, racks?
These instruments, which are over a century old but still in use in the late 1970s, tell the story of Champagne wine and give us a better understanding of how winegrowers and vineyard workers worked the vines on a daily basis. In the farm?s garden stands the 1927 4000 kg wine press, built in Cumières.
