Initiated in 1999 by passionate volunteers from the socio-cultural association of Allenwiller, a major operation to collect tools and agricultural machinery of yesteryear quickly reached unexpected volumes. The material thus collected was stored outside and delivered to the bad weather.
From 2003 to 2005, the town of Allenwiller-Sommerau and the association pooled their efforts and skills to build a 1,200 m² hall specially designed to display this collection
It is after more than 10 years of collecting, work and hard work that the collection could finally be presented to the public for the first time in August 2015.
It has more than 600 parts, from simple tools to combine harvesters and all the machines that were once used for local mixed farming. Specific areas related to agriculture are located alongside this equipment, arranged by theme: blacksmith's workshop, wheelwright's workshop, old-fashioned kitchen, woodcutting
People are at your disposal to give you technical explanations on the operation or use of the equipment, as well as to guide you through the exhibition.
