Iniziata nel 1999 da appassionati volontari dell'associazione socio-culturale di Allenwiller, una grande operazione di raccolta di attrezzi e macchinari agricoli del passato ha raggiunto rapidamente volumi insperati. Il materiale raccolto è stato conservato all'esterno e lasciato alle intemperie.
Dal 2003 al 2005, la città di Allenwiller-Sommerau e l'associazione hanno unito i loro sforzi e le loro competenze per costruire una sala di 1.200 m² appositamente progettata per esporre questa collezione
Dopo oltre 10 anni di raccolta, lavoro e fatica, la collezione è stata finalmente presentata al pubblico per la prima volta nell'agosto 2015.
Comprende più di 600 oggetti, da semplici attrezzi a mietitrebbie, incluse tutte le macchine che un tempo venivano utilizzate nell'agricoltura mista locale. Accanto a queste attrezzature, disposte per tema, si trovano aree specifiche legate all'agricoltura: officina del fabbro, officina del carradore, cucina all'antica e taglio del legno
Il personale è a vostra disposizione per fornirvi spiegazioni tecniche sul funzionamento o sull'uso delle attrezzature, oltre che per guidarvi attraverso la mostra.
