The history of the Tuquet vineyard goes back to the time of the Romans, but its Charterhouse was built in the 18th century. The southern façade as well as the perspective linking the gate to the pond, passing through the center of the house, are attributed to Victor Louis, architect of the great theater of Bordeaux.
The house was inhabited by the Moitessier family, and thus welcomed Charles de Foucauld on several occasions, while he was resting with his aunt.
In 2021, after a long expatriation in Canada, Delphine and Guillaume Journel decided to change their life and realize their dream of making wine. They fell under the spell of this property and its neighbor, Château Couloumey, and set out to reunite these two properties that history had separated for more than 3 centuries.
The exceptional terroir of Le Tuquet produces elegant, fruity and woody wines.
