The two slag heaps on the Bas Riez site are home to a wide variety of habitats, offering strong ecological contrasts. The woodlands are made up, on the one hand, of black locust and, on the other, of a variety of cherry, oak, birch, ash and willow trees. For safety reasons, access to the 2 slag heaps is forbidden. There are also open wetlands.
