Accueillant des milieux variés, les deux terrils du site du Bas Riez offrent de forts contrastes écologiques. Les boisements sont composés, d’une part, de robiniers faux-acacias et d’autre part, de boisements diversifiés de merisiers, chênes, bouleaux, frênes et saules divers. Les 2 terrils sont d’accès interdit pour des raisons de sécurité. On trouvera également des zones humides ouvertes.
