Conservatoire Végétal Régional d'Aquitaine

In Montesquieu, in the heart of the Garonne valley, the Conservatoire Végétal d'Aquitaine gathers the most beautiful varieties of our rural heritage.

The estate is divided into 2 parts: the conservatory orchard and the museum orchard. The conservatory orchard gathers more than 2000 varieties of all regional fruit species patiently built up over the centuries by the farmers of the south-west. This 12-hectare orchard is the result of 25 years of research and is open to the public from mid-May to the end of October.

On the other hand, there's the orchard-museum. It consists of more than 550 local fruit varieties and grape varieties on 1 hectare. A real showcase of the regional heritage and the agricultural selection effort, this orchard is an opportunity to come and discover the traditional ways of growing fruit that are original and often little-known.
