Saint-Aubin was until the 18th century a vassal seigneury of the Poyaller family. A castle and a chapel remain from this noble past in the hamlet. The tower of Poyaller is the only vestige of the castle built by the English in the 13th century. Recent restorations have brought out the quality of the stonework. The high windows make it possible to guess the rooms of this architecture: rooms, room of the guards, living room. The tower had 4 levels and still has the remains of two fireplaces. The Tower of Poyaller, one of the few master towers preserved in the Landes, dominates the surrounding valleys, and protects the spur, accessible from one side only, where the village developed. It is a private property, respect it.
