The Stone Gate is a strange and fascinating natural monument, a monolith of pink sandstone, located in the heart of the forest, in the Donon massif. Many hikers take the trouble to walk for a while, to bathe for a few moments in the beneficial energies of this place and enjoy a moment of contemplation.
Formed by three pillars surmounted by a lintel, the rock forms a double door of 5 m height and 7 m width. This geological curiosity at 858 meters of altitude has been sculpted by rain, wind and frost
Two large menhirs (now lying) and cup stones found around it, probably testify to the Celtic presence. Was it for them an entrance to the forbidden country?
