La Chapelle de la Salette

Located in the commune of Le Ménil. This ancient oratory is accessible on foot, via the blue signposted path leading to La Tête des Champs. It can also be approached by car until you cross the path that leads to it after 600 m. GPS from: 47°55'06.5" N / 6°49'18" E The chapel is located on a rocky outcrop overlooking the surrounding area. This small, square edifice stands on a masonry base. The walls are protected by sheet metal panels painted blue. The pyramidal roof is also made of sheet metal, but painted reddish-brown. The façade features 2 shutters closed by a latch. Opening inwards, they protect a wood-clad niche. Behind a glass window, various statuettes of the Virgin Mary have been installed, including one of La Salette.
